Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting students from Carver Vocational Technical High School at our Monroe Street Asphalt Plant for an inside look at what we do at Flanigan 👷♂️
From the field to the plant, we walked them through the many career paths within our company—covering everything from construction operations to the plant teams and all the supporting roles that make up Team Flanigan.
They got a firsthand look at:
✔️ Asphalt—what it’s made of and how it’s used
✔️ Quality Control, including lab testing and why mix design matters
✔️ How the plant works including live truck loadouts to see the final product
✔️ The control tower and how it keeps everything running smoothly
✔️ Our mechanic shop and the team that keeps our equipment moving
And as a bonus… one of our paving crews was working in our yard, so they got to see paving in action! 🚧
The best part? We’re neighbors—and until this visit, many didn’t realize the scale of operations happening right beyond the fence that separates us!
Thank you to the students and teachers for spending the morning with us. We loved sharing what we do and hope we sparked some interest in future careers in construction!
