OUR CULTURE

Safety and health must be a part of every operation, and it is of the utmost importance to us. We strive to provide a safe workplace for our family of employees, subcontractors, community members, and the traveling public. With an established safety program, we incorporate educational and monitoring procedures to teach safety, correct deficiencies, and provide a safe working environment.

Everyone is urged to take no risks, no shortcuts, or any chances that undermine the integrity of the work and the lives of your fellow workers. Every employee is empowered with the ability to stop work when an unsafe condition arises.

TRAINING

We provide extensive training in-house for all employees, from new-hire orientation to our annual Winter School for project managers, superintendents, foremen, and general managers. Safety education and training occur throughout the year to remain in compliance with all recent standards and regulations.

Our safety classes include, but are not limited to, OSHA training, confined space practices, First Aid and CPR training, instruction in bloodborne pathogens, flagger and traffic control, silica safety. We require our lead personnel to be current in all areas of safety training, and we also provide training from the state on Erosion and Sediment Control and Competent Personnel, as well as outside training in Hazmat as required. All employees are encouraged to attend safety and training classes.
